Flynco’s construction of the Witt Stephens Jr. Nature Center for the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission earned two awards from the Associated Builders and Contractors. Situated along the Arkansas River in downtown Little Rock, the center celebrates the state’s abundant outdoor recreational opportunities and the conservation efforts that maintain fish and wildlife resources.
The center features a grand exhibit hall boasting three 3,000-gallon aquariums, along with multiple freestanding displays depicting diverse nature scenes. Visitors can explore a 60-seat auditorium, large exhibit spaces, classrooms, a visitor center, a gift shop, and administrative offices, all designed to foster a deeper appreciation for Arkansas’s natural heritage. Floor-to-ceiling window walls illuminate the exhibits and draw the riverfront setting indoors, while large glue-laminated beams and wood decking add a rugged, authentic charm.
