Arkansas Game & Fish Commission – Witt Stephens Jr. Nature Center

Location: Little Rock, AR

Nominated for an Excellence in Construction Award by the Associated Builders and Contractors, this 16,232 sq.ft. facility sits on the banks of the Arkansas River in Little Rock’s River Market District. The Nature Center sits on 3 acres and provides educational programs and exhibits that highlight native plants, fish and wildlife in Arkansas as well as the role of wildlife management in the history of the Natural State.

The Nature Center includes a large main exhibit hall, classrooms, visitors center and gift shop, a 60-seat theater, three 5,000 gallon aquariums, stand-alone exhibit cases, and administrative offices. Construction was completed while maintaining the safety of the public as the site is located within a high-traffic, dense urban location.
